What Are You Grateful For?

Most of us don't get up in the morning and think about what we are grateful for, but there is plenty of evidence that doing this, on a regular basis or as often as you remember, can make you a happier and healthier person.
You can skip over the "hippy dippy" stuff in this article, but there are some really good useful nuggets of information to read here:
When asked to participate in the Gratitude Show at Sweeties this month, I really had to think about what I'm grateful for, specifically in relation to the artwork I am presenting there. What first came to mind was the gift of being a creative person; an artist. I love the fact that I am always looking for something that is visually compelling or inspiring, and very often I find it in the world around me. My "Epic Journey" to Europe that I took with a dear friend and artist (Yasmin) recently provided me with an incredible amount of inspiration and awe. One of those incredible moments that I will never forget, is captured in the photograph I submitted for the Gratitude Show.

So, one of the things I am eternally grateful for is the human psyche and my psyche that can discover and viscerally see the beauty the world has to offer. The word "psyche" in English means: "the human soul, mind or spirit". In Greek it means simply, “soul”. In classical mythology, Psyche was a princess of outstanding beauty who aroused Venus’ jealousy and Cupid’s love. I'm not sure which mythological goddess it is that I photographed in Venice, but I have named her Psyche and although she tried to hide from me, I am so pleased to have met her as I wandered by. Please stop by the show and enjoy what this group of artists are grateful for.
